Overview

Bassari’s 3 permits cover a large area of approximately 1,300 sq km and abut each other in central location in the highly prospective Birimian Greenstone belt of the Senegal/Mali border belt. The Moura, Sambarabougou and Bounsankoba permits are located in the Tambacounda region of South Eastern Senegal some 770kms from the capital city of Dakar, and approximately 70km north east of the town of Kedougou. The north east boundary of the Moura permit is along a portion of the Faleme River which forms the boundary with Mali.

As a consequence of the exploration work, numerous gold anomalies and hard rock gold drilling targets have been identified for drilling in 2008. In addition our permits contain large alluvial gold fields presently worked by local artisinal miners (known locally as Orpayeurs). Early preliminary evaluation indicated these areas have good prospects for early development, as limited work indicated good grade, low overburden rates and are metallurgically suited for production. In this regard we have identified an Australian alluvial plant system developed by the Gekko company based in Ballarat, Victoria, which could be ideal for use in the Senegal terrain.

Bassari's permits are in close proximity to Mineral Deposits Limited (ASX), Oromin Explorations and Randgold.
